Public Projects

I’ve been fortunate to have worked on several different personal or professional projects that have received some media attention.  Please find links to these below.

Coin-Op Cleveland | 2013:

Coin-Op Cleveland was a Kickstarter Project initiated by John Stanchina and me in March, 2013.  The objective was to fund the installation and 30-day operation of a 1990’s retro arcade in Cleveland, Ohio.  At the end of the project, all profits would be donated to area charities serving women and at-risk youth.

Addiction Research (CWRU) | 2013:

From August 2011 to February 2013 I worked in the “Helping Others Live Sober” laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  Over this period, I co-authored several articles with the study PI that were well-received by news media.  In many cases I created drafts of press-releases distributed by the school of medicine’s media relations department.

Trauma Research (CWRU) | 2013:

From Fall 2010-2011 I volunteered in Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Psychological Sciences.  I functioned as a part-time research assistant in Dr. Norah C. Feeny’s “PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)  Research and Treatment Program.”  One project that defined my experience while volunteering at CWRU was a meta-analysis reviewing the co-morbidity of PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) that I co-authored with post-doctoral scholar Nina Rytwinski, PhD.

Rape Crisis Volunteer Experience (CRCC) | 2010:

From Fall 2010 to Summer 2013 I volunteered as a Hotline Advocate for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.  Working with the CRCC was one of the most formative experiences I had during college.  I learned a great deal about building relationships, not only with survivors, but with those passionate about social change.
